toe jam and earl

I love the style your showing so far in your submissions, everything from the art to the sound, the interface decisions, even the basic mechanics seem to be artistically chosen rather than settled on.

I titled this review as I was reminded of toe jam and earl by the crazy style and sounds, pursuit of hat reminded me of skullmonkeys and neverhood.

Keep up the good work!

Map

Love the concept, not really anything "new' but the execution is done well.

Only glaring issue I could find was that I wasn't immediately sure what to do on the map screen, no arrow or obvious button to click. Perhaps just a label over the next location. Figured it out fast enough though.

Seemed really busy

Game looks great, music seemed rather well done etc. I don't play games like these very often so that may be why I'm not giving it a rave review like some people have. I have a few gripes actually, your "character" is hard to see with all the particles flying all over the place (maybe tone them down). The background color has alittle to do with it as well being so bright. Also I left the game playing by itself for a good 3 minutes and nothing happened, I didn't die at all and I kept getting a message saying space station is taking heavy damage but nothing actually seemed to be getting damaged.

Again I think the game looks great and it obviously had alot of hard work put into it so good job! Those personal gripes obviously didn't bother everyone so take it as it is :)

Keep it up!

good overall

Was fun till the 3rd level, seemed rather impossible to beat. might be because I don't normally play games like this so I don't know the strategy of it very well. Overall was fairly good, the slot game never seemed to do anything even with around 20 spins never won anything. good job overall on the flash though, all these just minor gripes.

Great start

Other than a few typos in the Vux dialogue and what others have already said I don't see anything wrong with it. Keep it up!

Awesome

I'm a game art student so anything 3D get's me all giddy. Not sure what sort of engine this is or what it can do but If this would allow 3d models in a flash game than I'm very very interested :D I use blender, maya, max, and zbrush.

I did all the code from scratch - if you turn up the accuracy then it does more iterations from corner to corner, enjoy!

Interface

Wonderful game, I enjoyed it very much and the ending wasn't too bad either. I may have spent too much time backtracking and leveling up. The ONLY gripe I have about the game and it wasn't enough to really make the overall experience lower. The interface seemed to be less thought out then the game itself. The starting menu didn't have any text at all and I clicked all over the screen till I could find the start button.

that's all, good job!

weapon

was fun, till i bought a new weapon and it wouldn't shoot, didn't realize I had to buy ammo along with the weapon. good job from what I saw though.

Bandaro responds:

I've updated the game so that you start with some ammo for the guns now. Thanks for the feedback.

glitch

if you hit the sound off button and try to turn it back on it doesn't work.

decent graphics and story so far otherwise.

good work!

familiar

Wow...you sir have done a great job here. Brings back memories of Ultima 1-5

This is the type of game I'd love to make if I weren't just a 3d modeler and couldn't code to save my life lol

keep it up!

LunaDrift responds:

if you want to do some art for the game... go for it. i'm thinking about making this open source.

ultima just rocks eh!

I throw pixels and polygons together till they resemble something interesting...
