I just bought this game and tried it out...hardest old school RPG I've ever played...never died 4 times in the first area of an RPG before...and now I'm sculpting cthulhu...fun stuff! I like the details you added here like the barnacles, they don't really show much of him in the game other than some silhouette drawings in the beginning.

No kick starter link?! I like the flame guy, the cigar looks like it'd be fun to sculpt...I'll have to go google this. I'll say after sculpting kervamp the one thing I had to adjust that isn't readily visible in the illustration is a lower lid for the eyes so that they can open/close once rigged, like in this image his right eyeball appears to be hanging over the lower lid but I'd have to sculpt it a bit differently.

Good stuff!

I keep saying I'm going to sculpt one of your characters in zbrush and I'll do it eventually... glad you're still active and churning stuff out. Hope all is well!

you did! and it looks awesome! great job, i'm so happy when my guys get to be 3d. thanks so much!

*highfives*

I like it! Did the challenge come with a grid of pre made character names? I'd like to do something like that soon I think.

adeCANTO responds:

Actually no! It's just the long white image with the numbering on the corner of each cell. The characters, names, concepts are all on me. Look up the challenge name on google/deviantart.

I like the textures, have you done any videos showing your processes?

Awesome stuff man, I need to get back into flash...only animation I've done over the past few years was on a light table and drawing hundreds of versions of the same thing just to get a few seconds of motion is pretty frustrating...

These are really interesting...I've used flash for years but for web design and game interface design but I've done traditional animation quite a bit...always just thought flash animation didn't look quite right, with the puppeteering style...

But your idle animations do fairly well at hiding that they were made in flash, good stuff!

Very nice! They've massively improved the interface for Blender since I first tried it but the learning curve used to be terrible...The model and lighting looks good here! Wouldn't mind seeing the wireframe to see how you managed the edge loops specially if you were going to rig it. Have you used other 3d modeling programs?

Diives responds:

Yes, I have used 3Dmax, Maya and zbrush but technically is not a 3D modeling program..
I will ask my professor tomorrow about the rigg in blender, and then i will know if the loops are okay or not..
I can send you a Image with the wireframe and you can comment me about it, what do you think? :D

Nice scarring there, you don't mention any other software so I assume you don't do block out geometry in maya or anything like that? I guess you have a handle on shadowbox and projection master etc...I still have to start out in maya or I end up with messy looking models, plus I kind of think working on edge flow is mildly therapeutic... Is this the newest version of zbrush that just came out?

Good stuff!

tlishman responds:

I very very rarely use other programs. Everything you see is made in ZBrush. The latest versions are amazing. Once you get past the learning curve of the interface its quite a brilliant tool. Yes, well I automatically get the latest version as I bought a licence ^^

Don't really use shadowbox either haha, but i have been meaning to at somepoint.

Thanks!

I throw pixels and polygons together till they resemble something interesting...
